On November 9, 2025, at Silla University Stadium, the first Vietnam Student Football Tournament in Busan took place in a solemn and lively atmosphere, with the participation of numerous delegates, guests, and hundreds of Vietnamese students studying and living in Busan.
Organized by the Vietnamese Association in Busan, the tournament marked the first time the Vietnamese student community in Busan had a large-scale, professional, and engaging sporting event. This is considered a meaningful step towards creating an environment for interaction, physical training, and strengthening solidarity among Vietnamese students in South Korea.
This year’s tournament brings together 12 outstanding student football teams from universities in Busan and the surrounding area, including: Silla Uni L.I FC, Silla Bros FC, Dongseo University 1, Dongseo University 2, Gyeongsang National University, Busan Institute of Science & Technology (BIST), Pukyong National University, Busan Catholic University, Dong-eui Institute of Technology, Busan Brothers FC, Donga-Bumin FC, and Inje University.
The participation of teams from various universities demonstrates the spirit of solidarity, exchange, and the desire to showcase the talents of Vietnamese students in Korea. The young players will compete wholeheartedly for their team’s colors, delivering exciting and dramatic matches.
The opening ceremony began with vibrant cultural performances, showcasing the youthful energy, enthusiasm, and dynamism of the Vietnamese student generation. Immediately afterwards, all delegates, guests, and participating teams performed the flag-raising ceremony of Vietnam and South Korea in a solemn atmosphere, demonstrating the friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
The opening ceremony was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung – Deputy Consul of Vietnam in Busan, representatives from Silla University, and many guests from organizations, businesses, and the Vietnamese community in South Korea.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, a representative of the Vietnamese Association in Busan stated that the Student Football Tournament was organized with the desire to create an annual sporting event for Vietnamese students, where they can meet, connect, and interact, while also promoting the image of Vietnamese students as dynamic, friendly, and integrated.
This year’s tournament brings together many student football teams from universities in Busan and the surrounding area. The matches promise to deliver an exciting, dedicated, and spirited competition, showcasing fair play and solidarity.
